'Access to the path "...\Temp\" is denied' occurs upon opening the Cube

This means ASP.NET is not authorized the write access to the "...\Temp\" folder.

To grant it, right-click the "...\Temp\" folder in the Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account (or "Everyone" account - it's easier), and check the appropriate boxes for the desired access rights.

Consider granting the ASP.NET request identity access rights to the resource. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating, the identity will be an anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or an authenticated request user.

Sometimes, for some reasons, you have no "Security" tab in the "Properties" dialog window. It often happens if the Windows XP with "Simple file sharing" option is used. In this case, try the following:

  1. Launch Windows Explorer or My Computer.
  2. Click Tools at the menu bar, and then click on Folder Options.
  3. Click View tab.
  4. In the Advanced Settings section at the bottom of the list, uncheck and unselect (clear the tick) the "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)" check box.
  5. Click OK.

Please note the Security tab is available only to the Administrator or the users with administrative rights. So make sure you login as such.
